this looks like it has a chance of being fun, especially for those who want to get laid
on july 24th . . . enter a world of foot-stomping jazz and gut-bucket blues. listen to the sounds of old new orleans, early new york, chicago, and rural america - to the music that transported people of every race and class during the depression years. step into a time when juke joints and speakeasies were the only places to drink bootleg, hear great jazz, and dance the night away . . .
performers will be:
the amazing roulette sisters: tight harmonies, early blues, and swinging old time jazz
the sultry perle noire, performing her own brand of elegant southern striptease...
the hot sardines, fresh out of the can! liquor drinking dance music from the depression
and just to make it a little hotter, fire performance by donia love
roll up your sleves and join me for a rollicking evening of summertime scandal in your 1930's juke and gin joint garb. doors will open at 10pm as the first band begins, and performances will continue throughout the evening until 3:30am or later.
there will be southern food, iced tea, iced cold beer and prohibition era cocktails.
we'll have an upstairs (air conditioned) lounge.
in remembrance of the great depression (and the current one as well), tickets are
only $17 in advance, and $20 at the door. the party is 21+ only.
we will be selling tables if you want to make sure you get a seat for the show, though additional seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
for tables and advance tickets, go to shanghaimermaid.com
secret location
and please my darlings, no press, party lists, blogs, etc. this evening is by invitation
and word-of-mouth only. thank you!
i look forward to seeing all you beautiful revelers very soon,
xo juliette
p.s. as always, i am continuing to raise money to improve the space, the new upstairs lounge, the rooftop, and the garden too. any donation or investment, no matter how
small, is much appreciated! please click here if you are interested in helping.
