Thinking of going to this and covering it for Jambase or Relix if they would take it. Yoga, community living and live music are truly starting to intersect as we strive towards utopia. Last year Michael Franti was previously booked for this festival but had to cancel due to his appendectomy. This year things are more electronicly oriented as far as the music goes and there is much more money in the festival as well. Yoga and the green movement is growing rapidly and so is the money involved. this is shown in the documentary Yoga Inc, check it out. Not sure if the creators actually do yoga though.
Wanderlust is involved with Kula Yoga because the founder of Kula baller and shot caller Schuyler Grant is a teacher at the festival. If you are in NYC and really want to step up your practice, this is the studio that will get you there. the classes are very advanced so don't feel bad if you need to hang out in child's pose, but they are accepting of mid level students and its an interesting place.
