south slope yoga

I took a yoga class at this place Bikram Yoga, the guy in charge is one of the original yogis from India, I did really well because i have been doing it since my hippie high school in Vermont with teacher "Willow Wonder." Definitely the best i felt in a long time, and a great way to channel my abundance of energy. this is really the only place to take a class in nyc since east west studio closed down. on a side note all the Alex Grey artwork has been removed from east west studio, as Shady Backflash my tour friend and famous 60's art curator kept me posted on twitter. its too bad they had to tear the place down but the CoSM retreat center is sure to be amazing.

Yoga is not easy, and you will suck for a while. but you will feel better then you ever felt in your life if you go hard.

    • There are over one billion out of use cell phones in the US alone.
    • That's more than 3 out of use phones for every person in the US!

landfills or incinerators, among other environmentally unsound destination.
    • Average life span of mobile phone - 16 months!

In partnership with Musictoday, Gibson and Collective Good, Rock the Earth is calling on all Rothbury attendees to collect and bring as many of their old, unwanted mobile phones as they can find to the Rock the Earth booth for redemption. Each person bringing a phone will receive 20% Off future Musictoday purchases, AND each phone is worth one entry into the on-site sweepstakes drawing for cool prizes like CDs, DVDs, T-shirts, signed String Cheese Incident, Umphrey's McGee and Keller Williams memorabilia, Relix magazine subscriptions, posters , a Gibson '58 Satin Guitar, and many MORE GREAT PRIZES.

PLUS, every phone recycled enters you into the Grand Prize drawing for the ultimate rock n'roll experience.

Onboard the exclusive Gibson Tour Bus. One lucky winner will attend a major

Hipsters Vs. Bankers NYC Deathmatch- Financial Crisis Hurting Hipsters

original story http://dealbreaker.com/2009/06/financial-crisis-hurting-hipst.php

Know those homeless-looking people you see on Bedford Ave? The ones who look homeless given their choice of attire, but aren't, and are in reality living in pretty sweet condos, etc? In years past you'd be secure in your disdain for the fact that despite only working part-time at America Apparel, they were shacking up in $5,000/month apartments. Now, not so much. 'Cause some of these hipsters are actually homeless, relatively speaking. Like everything in life, the blame can be squarely placed on parents, who are always ruining everything. Take any of Ernie DiGiacomo's tenants. For the past five years, most of their moms and dads were sending him $1,500-$2,500 checks each month. Now? Those assholes are "pulling back financial help," to the extent that their children have to move home (or pay their own way, but be serious). And how 'bout those would-be home-owning hipsters? Are their parents still helping them out there? No!

The number of sales in Williamsburg dropped nearly a quarter in the first three months of this year compared with the same period a year ago, according to HMS Associates, a Brooklyn appraisal firm. And in three recent cases, Mr. Weinstein said, owners sold their apartments in short sales -- selling for less than the bank is owed, to avoid foreclosure -- because they were no longer receiving parental help.

Mr. Weinstein has been advising two brothers in their late 20s who wanted to buy a $700,000 apartment with $250,000 from their parents. But their parents' investment portfolio has lost so much value that they now can give only $50,000. Since the brothers make about $45,000 a year each, they are now shopping for a $500,000 apartment.

It is an adjustment that many have to deal with. Eric Gross, 26, a construction worker, was going to buy, with help from his father, a $600,000 one-bedroom condo with city views at Northside Piers, a luxury building, he said. But his father, who works in the auto industry, said he had to reduce his contribution. "He's pulling back the lifeline," Mr. Gross said. So Mr. Gross is scaling back, shopping for a $300,000 apartment, said his real estate agent, Binnie Robinson of AptsandLofts.com.

The Roots Cafe Brooklyn

Yesterday I went down with my neighbors to the The Roots Cafe, in Brooklyn. this is right by my apartment around 19 street and 5th avenue. It looks like a country bar, with comfortable seating inside. They have music nights there every Friday and the owner Jakes says there's a really good turn out. There are lot's of musicians that hang out there and i may start playing in some projects with them. I will stop by next friday (not this friday) with some pictures of the place.

telepath vs. telepathe

VS.

Listen to Telepath- toward peace off Contact
Listen to Telepath - and then it began off Contact

I recently received two new albums to review Telepath and Turbine. The Telepath album is possibly one of the best new albums I have heard in a long time, it mixes east Asian sounds like sitar and tabla from India artfully with dub and breakbeats. the sounds are healing, invigorating and relaxing. unfortunately while Telepath rocks the jam scene and festival circuit, the hipster empire of blogs and Myspace has another band with a similar name in their sites. Telepathe, two annoying hipster girls making music a 6 year old could make like most hipster music is (Dan Deacon) no musical talent no soul, no depth, just clicks and Casio. I guess this is why they call music a business. just consume whatever your spoon fed, as blogs become the very establishment they were created to overcome.what is die cutting?

Phish Soundboards

try these tricks when searching for media, and encourage our musicians to be like phish and make their money of live music! live music revolution! also check out sad steve which finds files on peoples websites they uploaded via FTP.

Florida is the kind of place where Otiel Burbridge the bass player for the Allman Brothers plays small clubs and hang out with the audience, where JJ Grey from Mofro jams on his guitar by a campfire and Dereck Trucks shows up impromptu at your local annual festival to kick out some southern slide guitar gospel.

Deltron 3030 New Album Event II

the originators in hacker rap Deltron 3030 with Del the Funky Homosapien fom the Gorillaz, look for the new Deltron 3030 album Event II in 2009

i sent this to godaddy and i hope someone from google reads this please bloc this spam blog network http://www.amarillodillasbaseball.com/

this is the pakistani blog spam network that is buying up old blogs with links faster then google can notice. http://www.amarillodillasbaseball.com/ they are ranking for my name and my business after they grabbed this blog through the circumstance below, due to a problem with the google apps/godaddy agreement. i even have a godaddy employee testifying that the google apps/godaddy custom domain had lots of issues

Dear Sirs,
Alexander S. Borsody has consulted me as to his legal rights with
respect to the domain musicandartsblog.com which he has now lost,
apparently through an error on your part.
He purchased this domain through Google which, we understand, has a
contractual arrangement with your company to purchase and maintain
domains. He timely sent in the fee to renew the domain name on April
29, 2009 the credit
card information was updated on this day as well. The site was not renewed and

it was put up for sale on the aftermarket; There was no notification
that the domain
was on the aftermarket and the site remained up and indexed in the
search engines/
was purchased by someone who seems to be a spammer, in Pakistan, who is
using it to get free inbound links and page rank from Google for
affiliate sites, something which is clearly against the Google
guidelines.
Since the present owner of this site appears to be using
it improperly, and since it was mistakenly made available to him to
purchase, it is only equitable that this site be returned to its
rightful owner. Needless to say, we are willing to pay the purchaser of
the site the amount that he paid for it, $107, so that he will be made
whole.
My son, however cannot be made whole unless the domain
is returned to him because this domain represents years of work and is
an important part of his career in music.
While, admittedly, the law of Internet domain sales is
still in development and there are few cases in this area that I have
found, we believe that court may certainly side with a plaintiff who
shows good faith efforts to follow proper procedures and yet suffers a
significant loss through error on the part of a company, such as
Godaddy, in whom he placed his trust. We trust you will do the right
thing
and return this domain site to my son.

CAMP BISCO VIII POSITIONS ITSELF AS ONE OF THE COUNTRY'S BEST ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVALS

Atlanta, Georgia (June 10, 2009) - Heading into it's eighth year, Camp Bisco, the three-day music and arts festival in Mariaville, New York this July 16-18, 2009 has steadily grown into one of the country's most eclectic gatherings. Intermixed within its already diverse lineup of rock, jam, R&B and hip-hop, the annual festival will once again showcase some of the best electronic artists in the world. This year’s electronic lineup includes: Kid Cudi; Chromeo; Special Disco Version James Murphy & Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem; Bonobo Live; Orchard Lounge; Shpongle; DFA Disco Tent; Twisted Records All Star Tent; AC Slater; Flying Lotus; Pretty Lights; DJ Haitian; Dr. Fameus vs. DJ Drizno; and Dirty Paris.

Founded by The Disco Biscuits in 2002 as a means to bringing together like minded musicians and artists, Camp Bisco VIII will have a near 50 performer multi-stage lineup including: The Disco Biscuits - All 3 Nights; Nas & Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley; Asher Roth; STS9 (2 nights); Tractorbeam vs. The Perfume; Dr. Dog; K'Naan; Younger Brother; Brothers Past; Pnuma Trio; EOTO; Holy Ghost; John Brown's Body; Telepath; Boombox; Martyn, BioDiesel with KJ Sawka; Phantogram; MO2; Fort Knox Five; Kill the Noise; Prometheus; Ott; Starkey; Bluetech; Indobox; BLVD; Two Fresh; Mixed Bag's Superjam; The Chavy Boys of London; Chronicles of the Landsquid; Roots of Creation; Joe Nice; Tuphace; Otherwise; Synewave; and Mike La Sage and the Stumbling Troubadours.

The grounds come equipped with full bathrooms; which include flush toilets and showers, as well as 24/7 bathroom attendants. Festival goers will have access to a full bar on site and a general store, which sells almost every necessity for a comfortable and care free experience.

Secret Brooklyn Loft/Warehouse Party

When : Saturday 10 PM
Where : 87 3rd ave between bergin and dean

My friend and NYC New York Photographer, Robert Chapman lives in some awesome loft left to this dude by his eccentric artist dad. This thing is free but if you want to throw down for the band you can. The place is like an old art gallery with a really cool layout a stage, sound booth and a bar. These guys live there and the place borders on residential/commercial. The address is 87 3rd ave between bergin and dean, and you will be able to hear the music or see the velvet rope and what looks like the entrance to either a house or a venue. It's right up the stairs. Some bands who have played there so far include The Brew, U-Melt and The Macpodz. Contact me if your going and ill add you to our email list.

By Subway : Take the B, D, M, Q, R, 2, 3, 4, or 5 train into Brooklyn and get off at the Pacific St/Atlantic Ave Station. Walk 1 block up to Dean St and take a right, walk over on Dean to 3rd Ave and take a left then walk 1 block to Bergen Street. Both of these directions will be leading you AWAY from the clock tower with the big red clock face. The warehouse is on the corner and has a loading dock with stairs onto the sidewalk.

Roots Present the Jam, Jill Newman Productions, Rebirth Brass Band BB Kings

I went to this show the other night, all the good people from the "jamband" movement were there doing their thing. I guess the guy who owns BB Kings owns Highline Ballroom as well, so I went to both these shows. The Roots Jam also known as "the 10 dolla bill show" had a huge line... that I got to cut! The people who work there are all really cool, in this unpretentious-pretentious dressed in black, artsy kind of way. everyone has there ear pieces and looks like secret service. We got photo's for Jambase which we had to actually sign a contract that we would only use for them, it was the most red tape I ever had to go through for a concert, but after I saw how huge the line was and how many damn performers on stage I understood. There must have been so many friends and friends of friends smoking funk backstage it was rediculous. The list of performers was at least 20-25 people. It included this crazy ass burlesque group called "Brown Girls Burlesque" very weird and cool. A Santogold wannabe, some crazy jazz pianists and bass players including the bassist for Chapter 2, this awesome soulful gospel player who plays weekly at Union Pool, it was indeed a circus and the vibe was all good, some really good peoples. They played some Jackson 5 covers at the end including my favorite funky bass line of all time "I Want You Back!" they had a horn section and ?uest Love was smiling all stoned through the whole show, there was definitely Sour Diesel and Kush filling the room.

The future is now last night, scott, YEMblog, operation leaky secret? and other techno music futurists were twittering every minute of the phish Jones Beach show. i tried to beat this crew to the punch on some of the songs and think i might have only gotten the encore suzy g, because there text included what trey said before hand. here's some excerpts from hidden track that sum up this interesting twitter experiment.

if your looking for an extra there were TONS in the lot, i heard people complaining about paying online prices left and right, in fact my friend Deb couldn't even sell hers for face.

"Many phans followed the action live thanks to an intrepid Phish fan who streamed the show over his iPhone. The future is now my friends. We’ll have a full report including photos from Dave Vann sometime tomorrow. Now, it’s time for sleepy. Hope you enjoyed the updates @YEMblog."

Long live Operation Leaky Secret!

Huge thanks to Wig Man, Headlamp Derek, and anyone else who helped make this happen.

Totally legendary. At one point, PhishTube Broadcast was even a trending topic on Twitter.

Speaking of which, if you enjoyed the PhishTube stream as much as I did, show your love by posting #LeakySecret on Twitter.

Indeed Scotty, the future is now.
