With the southeastern leg of their Winter Tour 2009 coming to a close, NYC road warriors U-Melt have solidified plans for their Spring Tour 2009 kicking off at the end of March. Featuring several debuts at venues throughout the northeast, U-Melt is continuing to amass an ever-growing fan base the old-fashioned way; through a rigorous touring schedule punctuated by electrifying live performances. Pushing the boundaries of a multi-genre blend and traditional musical logic, the band will be showcasing fresh U-Melt material alongside the live staples that have kept the crowds returning night after night.
Bringing their four piece sonic explorations to new and exciting venues, the Spring Tour 2009 will open with four straight Northeastern debuts as U-Melt delivers their progressive groove to Lucky’s in Cortland, NY on Thursday, March 26th, The Warehouse in Hartford, CT on the 27th, the newly opened Port City Music Hall in Portland, ME on the 28th and the Thunderbird Café in Pittsburgh, PA on Thursday, April 2nd. Following the series of debuts, the band will make an extraordinary return to a couple of their favorite haunts in Nietzsche’s in Buffalo, NY on the 3rd and the River Street Jazz Café in Plains, PA on the 4th.
Thursday, April 9th marks a monumental occasion on the U-Melt calendar as the band supports longtime friends in Umphrey’s McGee as the pair commemorates the newly opened House of Blues in Boston, MA. In what is becoming the latest in a long line of U-Melt traditions, the following night will feature a very special post-Umphrey’s McGee late night set as the group performs at the famous BB King Blues Club in Times Square. The official Umphrey’s McGee after party will feature special guest and longtime friend and collaborator, Wyllys, as the two artists groove on original material as well as elements of NYC drum and bass. After the hometown show in NYC, U-Melt will take the drive down I-95 to West Chester, PA, as they make their debut at The Note.
Before the band makes their way to the Rocky Mountain State for a stretch of dates, U-Melt has penned four dates for their eagerly awaited return to the upper Midwest. Kicking festivities off in Chicago, IL on Thursday, April 16th, the band presents “An Evening with U-Melt” at Martyr’s. Friday the 17th features U-Melt hosting another post-Umphrey’s McGee party at The House Café in Dekalb, IL followed by a special stop at the University of Wisconsin at Madison on the 18th. U-Melt will set sail west after performing at Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, IA on the 20th. On Wednesday, April 22nd, the band will make their highly anticipated return to Colorado with a show at Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins. The following night has the band returning to the Fox Theatre in Boulder. The band will conclude their Mile-High stay with a two-night stand at the renowned Quixote’s True Blue in Denver on the 24th and 25th.
U-Melt will head south for the final three dates of the tour, debuting at the Flytrap Music Hall in Tulsa, OK on Tuesday, April 28th and the Buc Days Festival in Corpus Christi, TX on the 30th. Proving that all good things must come to an end, U-Melt will bring their Spring Tour 2009 to a close in the Big Easy as the band makes their third consecutive late night Jazz Fest appearance at the Blue Nile on May 2nd. Never a band to stray too far from the road, U-Melt jump-starts their summer tour plans with their fourth annual performance at the Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL May 22nd – 24th, an eagerly awaited return to Mountain Jam in Hunter New York May 29th – 31st and an always memorable U-Melt late night set at the Stonehenge Music Festival in Kellyburg, PA on June 19th.
