Sony's Acid and why its Ill

There are a lot of stories to be told about multi track recording and editing. Basically, the idea is that you can record different instruments on separate tracks and edit them separately in order to achieve the best results when they will be heard by the listener as "music". Most of us enjoy music, but only few are aware about the amount of work needed from recording to the final delivery on CD or DVD.
When you think about the best music production software what comes to mind, the big three Reason, Logic and Acid, for the price I have concluded that Acid is the best. As an independent musician with ripe prospects and a bright future ahead of me I have run the gamut of trial softwares, dabbled with illegal copies, but that has gotten me nothing but trouble. Virus’s paranoia and questionable glances from professional music colleagues. If your looking to step up your game with music its time you buy a licensed copy of a serious piece of software like Acid. The interface is easy to understand and the learning curve is less steep then Logic or Reason. Those that used a multi track editing program like Cakewalk SONAR or Steinberg Cubase will find Acid's interface easy to work with. Acid starts loading a demo song that you can play with. There are some areas of the interface easy to distinguish, but before getting to them I will say that if you want your interface to look and feel different, this is no problem. All panels are easy to resize, move or hide. To see what items can be shown or hidden, you can go ahead and check the View menu. The main program window is divided into four areas. These are the toolbar, the track list, the timeline and the window docking area. Only the toolbar has a fixed size and position, the others can be moved around and resized as you wish. If you need information about any item that can be found in Acid, press Shift-F1 and click on that item. The toolbar contains buttons enabling you to access most used commands faster. It can be customized as you want by adding, removing or reordering them. Acid is used by pretty much every genre, my favorite being Jazz and Bluegrass. I was turned on to the software actually by an electronic music producer, of albums in NYC, who’s name I won’t use because he has been my friends since we were youths. He showed me how to use this software and I just ran with it, it was a matter of time before I started saving up and bought the full version. I have not looked back since and have been producing my own tracks, and am ready to create my own album. Watch for it soon, I might just surprise you when you hear my song on the radio.
