Camp Bisco VII Review: July 2008
There were between 7500 and 8000 people in attendance this year! About 2000 more then last year and more then any past Camp. You might have come to see MSTRKRFT or the 45 minutes of Snoop, but the artists who delivered and really wowed the crowd, are here for you now. The Disco Biscuits are at the peek of their career and all their naysayers and detractors and starting to soften up to them, this summer their voices (a much critisized subject) have really started to improve, singining in unison with impressive harmonies, something mostly unheard of for the band.
I find myself being challenged by the inequalities in this world or what I see as unfair. In particular the divisions at these events between, fan, staff, media and artists. As a member of the press I see how production staff codels us, giving free drinks and a nice lounge, though drawing the line at a certain point so as not to have as many perks or luxeries as themselves or the artists. Even the people who own the venue see themselves as separate and in many ways above everyone else there, including artists and executives, many of which who in turn look down on the staff and the fans. The fans being given the least amount of respect and luxeries in the end(and the ones footing the bill). This is not uncommon and is the same case with the Suwannee grounds, where the small town southern staff toss fans in jail, in excess, for minor offenses. To a degree, given the restricted access necessary for a show like this to exist, this mentality is a necessity. In the case of ILCC the bikers are a little more in touch with the community. Though it is likely that they would be a little distrusting of outsiders no matter what the situation. Despite occasionally almost getting hit with an ATV or motorcycle, they couldn't make the place run smoother. Surely better then letting the governments enforcers I.E the police, run things. Publicity worked very hard this year, and the fan foot the bill, media spread the information and the artists made the art.

Headcount and 20-20 ABC, at Camp Bisco
The two Headcount leaders are going to NYC today to film at 20/20's ABC studios, to make the important case of getting young people involved in the election. This interview, including the fans (coherent and incoherent) interviewed at the festival will be contrasted with a stodgy, angry, old academic who will be arguing that uniformed people, like many at this concert SHOULD NOT VOTE. This is such a dangerous view and is complete obstruction of democracy, luckily Andy Bernstein will be defending these views in the ABC studio today.
more to come on the actual music, snoop only played a 45 minute set and he was OUT.
P.S . The event staff said the show went very smoothly with little medical issues, or disturbances in the peace.
you may have seen people this weekend wearing this equalizer T-Shirt that emulates the Camp Bisco website design, conceived of by headcounts director of technology Jay Carbon.

Below is The New Deal, Dub War NYC, and Grimace Federation, in that order
Bisco Tuesdays will feature a different Bisco show every Tuesday
